Here is a quick and dirty list of why I absolutely love Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. It was my first time visiting this special country, but most definitely not my last. I have my heart set on returning in a few months to re-up my super powers. IYKYN:) For the sake of time, I condensed my reasons to five, but each one is chock full of stories, which I tell through my photos. Overall, Puerto Viejo was a gorgeous city steeped in culture and overflowing with ancient wisdom and healing. The environment inspires peace and well being. All I had to do was take off my shoes and tap into the good vibrations 🙂

1. Nature

Lush greenery; wild animals with wake up calls; beaches like Playa Negra and Punta Uva

2. Food

Carribean flair due to the dense Jamaican population on this side of the country; freshly home-made foods; organic produce; abundance of delicious plant-based options

3. Ticos & Positive Energy

Happy people; high vibrations; yoga; dancing; #puravida

4. Cocoa & other plant medicines

Healing herbs; medicinal rituals; full potency fruits

5. Casitas

Modest homes with everything you truly need; nature-sourced textiles, supplies and homewares;
